What?
A supplemental levy whose sole purpose is keeping as many teachers as possible in Shoreline Classrooms
Why?
State funding for Shoreline Schools has been cut by more than $6 million per year. This supplemental levy allows the District to offset a fraction of that loss through additional local funding.
How Much?
The average Shoreline or Lake Forest Park homeowner would pay approximately $0.09 per $1000 of assessed value each year. For the owner of a $400,000 home that's about $36 per year.
When?
Ballots should arrive the week of October 24th and must be postmarked by November 8th.
The Supplemental Levy would last for the remainder of the 2010 Maintenance and Operations Levy, so funds would be collected in 2012, 2013, and 2014.
